Ashmore Cottage
Ashmore Cottage is a genuine, heritage-listed Georgian cottage circa 1830 constructed of convict brick. The property is 3½ star rated (RACT) and is an accredited tourism business with the Tasmanian Tourism Council.

 Fully self contained, Ashmore Cottage is equipped with all modern conveniences, but retains the charm of yesteryear with log fire, antiques and private gardens. The Cottage is a perfect retreat for the whole family, a group of friends or for a couple wanting a romantic getaway. The cottage is able to accommodate up to 6 guests and features include:

  • Two double bedrooms
  • One twin bedroom
  • Lounge room with open fireplace
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Dining room with wood heater
  • Bathroom with period claw-foot bath and separate shower

Relax by the log-fire watching television or a video or DVD or listening to the CD player. The Cottage is set in cottage gardens and provides off-street parking. The Cottage is also family friendly with cot and high-chair available for our youngest guests.

Historic Richmond

‘Oak Lodge’ (c1830). ‘Oak Lodge’ was once the home of Richmond’s noted American-born doctor, William Clark. Now owned by the National Trust of Australia (Tasmania), it houses the Coal River Valley Historical Society Inc.
